Handbook
Attendance - Attendance is very crucial to the
progress of a dance or vocal student, and to the class as a whole. Our
curriculum is carefully designed to build on previous class learning.
If you are going to be absent from class, please call. If you miss a
class, you will have the opportunity to make up the class, if desired.
Punctuality - Classes will begin on time.
If you are late, and class is already in progress, please enter as quickly and
quietly as possible.
Attire - Students are required to wear proper dance
attire to all classes. Black leotards, any style, and pink tights are
required for students 2 1/2 - 12 years old. Students older than 12 may
wear black tights, black dance pants and black sport bra tops. Male
dancers may wear white t-shirts or tanks tops with black seat pants, athletic
pants or black shorts. Hair must be pulled up or back from the face.
Acceptable styles include: bun, ponytail, braids.
Shoes - All ballets must be
pink leather and have laces neatly tucked inside shoes. Babies 2 1/2 - 5
may have white or black tap shoes. Students 6 - 10 have white tie taps,
and 11 - up wear black tap oxfords. All jazz students wear black pull on
jazz shoes (no laces.)
Jewelry - At no time should jewelry be worn in dance
class. Please do not leave jewelry or any other valuables in the
bathrooms.
Closings - The studio closes for inclement weather following Shelby
Co. School closings. The Christmas break, following Shelby Co. Schools, is
observed for the studio for Christmas break closing. We are closed only on
Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Memorial Day. Not the days preceding or
following.
Conduct - We like to keep the emphasis on fun but, of course,
there are times when we have to state the rules and ask for your help in
following them. Lobby
- Do not run or participate in horse play
- Do not shout or use loud voices
- Do not leave food or empty containers in lobby
Classroom Rules
- Do not chew gum
- Do not talk while instructor is talking
Dropping a Class - If you wish to drop a class you must give 2 weeks
written notice before dropping the class. You will then be
responsible for 1/2 month tuition, if you do not give 2 weeks notice,
you are then fully responsible for the entire months tuition.
Illness -
Group Lessons - If you are not feeling well, or running a temperature,
please do not attend class and expose others. You will be able to
make up classes.
Private Lessons - You must give a 24 hour notice when cancelling a
private lesson. You are given 3 excused missed lessons in a
calendar year to make up. Any class not called in with 24 hour
notice will not be made up.
Late Payments - Please refer to the policy letter you signed upon
registration. Tuition is due on or before the 9th of the month.
Any payment made after the 9th is late. A $10 late fee wll be
added - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Refunds - No refunds will be given on missed classes. Ample
classes are available for make up sessions. Registration fees are
non-refundable if a student drops a class. |
