Emily Garrett

Emily Garrett, a lifetime resident of Bartlett, TN, has been in voice lessons since the age of 9. She graduated from Bolton High School in 2002 and was active in Theatre and Chorus all four years. She was President of Thespian Troupe 3968 and was awarded Who’s Who for Theatre, Best Thespian, and Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Bloody Mary in “South Pacific.” Ms. Garrett won the Grand Award at the 1st annual TN Kids Talent competition, has advanced to semi-finals several times in the Mid-South Fair Youth Talent Contest, and has placed in several other competitions both locally and nationally. Emily graduated from Lambuth in December of 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a Public Relations emphasis. She was very active in her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, and she served as a Homecoming Chair, Student Government Representative, Orientation Leader, and was a finalist for Ms. Lambuth. While at Lambuth, Ms. Garrett continued to sing and participate in theatre-she got the chance to play one of her favorite characters, Ousier in “Steel Magnolias.” Now, back at home in Bartlett, Emily teaches mainly at the Oakland studio and hopes to become re-involved with theatre and music in the Bartlett/Memphis community.
